NabeWise allows you to understand any neighborhood as if you've already lived there, so you can explore the world on a local level, discover new places, and find the neighborhoods that are right for you.

There are over 80,000 neighborhoods in the US alone, and they are all distinct in their people, setting, and culture. Many people want to know what different neighborhoods are like including, people moving, people traveling, and even curious locals.

People moving in particular want to find a place that fits their identity, lifestyle, and values. The average American moves every five years, and while choosing a neighborhood is as important as choosing a home, there has been no resource that helps people easily understand neighborhoods. Real estate agents also need better tools to help them educate their clients about an area.

Currently, people moving spend days driving around, talking to friends, and piecing together fragmented information to figure out where they belong. Even after all that effort, many people still choose the wrong area and have to move again. In fact, our founder had the idea for NabeWise after moving more than 30 times, so we know first-hand how difficult it can be.

At NabeWise we allow you to search for neighborhoods based on your preferences and then we provide a window into what the neighborhood is really like. We work hard every day developing new ways to convey all the subtleties of each neighborhood. Here are some of the resources and tools you can find on our site today:

  • For each city, we offer real-time neighborhood rankings across 65 key attributes such as, trendiness, noise-level, families, hipsters, and safety — things people really talk about and care about.
  • Our innovative NabeFinder tool uses proprietary data and algorithms to display customized heat maps of neighborhoods based on your specific combination of preferences.
  • Once you have narrowed your search, we bring each neighborhood to life with a photo tour, reviews from locals, and our unique NabeRep tool that captures the dynamic, local reputation of each place.
  • Finally, our comprehensive scorecard uses a mix of ongoing surveys, and public and private data to give you an understanding of each neighborhood in these key categories: Quality of Life, People, Things to Do, Character, and Schools.
