Since the housing boom of the 90s, the real estate here has undergone a considerable revitalization--locals rejoice! Divisadero and Fillmore Streets are a simply stroll away, both teeming with restaurants, nightlife and shopping.
Don’t for a second think that Lower Pacific Heights is like it’s big sister, Pacific Heights! They should be associated only by family name and home prices, as they are totally and completely different. This nabe is the ideal turnout of gentrification. Though housing prices have shot up, Lower Pacific Heights has gone from being a super-seedy patch of dirt to a popular and well-kept nabe. Fillmore Street is famous for it’s shopping, where you can find things that are different, more original, and usually much cooler than the clothes from the big name-brand stores Downtown. Basically, if you love shopping, get here and stay here. Forever.
