Infomation

Skyscrapers, ahoy! The City Center District is comparable to New York's Wall Street/Financial District–streets bustle in the daylight and go silent come nightfall. This district is as urban as they come, complete with tall buildings and pure concrete everything. As part of downtown, this nabe receives plenty of traffic coming through it, but few people seem to stick around after the offices close.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator color=”mulled_wine”][vc_column_text]City Center District, Dallas Data : Neighborhoods & Travel – Score out of 100[/vc_column_text][vc_progress_bar values=”%5B%7B%22label%22%3A%22Public%20Transportation%2079%22%2C%22value%22%3A%2279%22%7D%2C%7B%22label%22%3A%22Quiet%2050%22%2C%22value%22%3A%2250%22%7D%2C%7B%22label%22%3A%22Safety%2050%22%2C%22value%22%3A%2250%22%7D%2C%7B%22label%22%3A%22Clean%2050%22%2C%22value%22%3A%2250%22%7D%2C%7B%22label%22%3A%22Nightlife%2050%22%2C%22value%22%3A%2250%22%7D%5D” bgcolor=”sky” options=”striped, animated” title=”TOP ATTRIBUTES”][vc_progress_bar values=”%5B%7B%22label%22%3A%22Green%20space%2017%22%2C%22value%22%3A%2217%22%7D%2C%7B%22label%22%3A%22Parking%2017%22%2C%22value%22%3A%2217%22%7D%2C%7B%22label%22%3A%22Community%2017%22%2C%22value%22%3A%2217%22%7D%2C%7B%22label%22%3A%22Seniors%2015%22%2C%22value%22%3A%2215%22%7D%2C%7B%22label%22%3A%22Families%202%22%2C%22value%22%3A%222%22%7D%5D” bgcolor=”bar_turquoise” options=”striped, animated” title=”LOWEST ATTRIBUTES”][vc_separator color=”mulled_wine”][vc_column_text] Reviews

All work, no play

This is certainly a nabe for business, and not much else. While City Center District thrives during the day, nights are remarkably quiet and calm after the commuters leave. Few people actually live here, and if they do, it’s probably because they work in the area.

Skyscrapers, parking garages, and one-way streets are the norm here. There’s not much in terms of entertainment, although the Arts District is right around the corner.

What's awesome

Good public transportation, ideal for businesspeople

What's not so awesome

Lacking in housing/entertainment

Neither bad nor good.

Like the rest of downtown, the CIty Center District is going through a lot of construction and “revitalization” efforts in an attempt to bring new life into the area.

…it’s still something of a work in progress.

If you decide to live in the City Center District, you’ll face extremely busy days and remarkably quiet nights. The delights and rambunctiousness of Victory Park and the downtown clubs are far enough away that they won’t disturb a night’s rest, but close enough that you could easily walk over to check ’em out.

The sole advantage to living in the City Center District would be if you have a job in the area – your commute would be among the shortest in the city.
