Beverly Hills

Beverly Hills

Uber-upscale designer shopping that easily rivals Manhattan and reality-tv worthy restaurants line the streets in Beverly Hills, one of LA's most well-known nabes. Exclusive residential developments filled with excessively massive housing snake their way into the hills. Beverly Hills is the land of fast cars, snazzy suits, and a level of glam that would make David Bowie blush. Come on down, watch the celebrities attempt to hide from the paparazzi, and marvel in the exercise of top-end capitalism that is Beverly Hills.

Beverly Hills Articles and Reviews

Big Lips & Big Money

I work every day on Beverly Drive and have found Beverly Hills to be one of the most hilarious, yet interesting places I’ve ever been.

Almost everyone has an accent, little dog, collagen injected lips, houses on three continents and ten credit cards ready to buy the latest diamond-studded toilet paper holder.

But its not without its exciting day and night life. There’s always something going on in this city. Whether it be a star-studded gala, illegal game of blackjack with Leo or a quick drink with your girlfriends at Bar on 4 after spending way too much money at Neiman Marcus, this is place to be if you like to go-go-go.

Its residents enjoy privileges like ridiculously clean streets, international (& internationally wealthy) neighbors, great nanny references and cops who are so bored that the only arrests they make are when the random homeless guy decides to streak the streets of downtown Beverly Hills (this actually happened today).

What's awesome

Great food, great restaurants, great shopping, lots of celebrity sightings

What's not so awesome

Too Pretentious

If you….

If you think that having a hundred bucks in your pocket makes you loaded, I recommend you get the hell out of Beverly Hills fast, cause I doubt you can buy a Coke for that here.

If you are unfamiliar with Beverly Hills, you have likely been living under a rock, stranded on a desert island, in a parallel dimension.

If spending what amounts to a full month’s salary for “normal” people on lunch sounds like fun, come on down and do it.

If you have enough money to really shop, dine, party, live, hangout here, then you are not reading this website anyways.

If you are a tourist, by all means come down to Beverly Hills and take in the sights and people watch your ass off. You won’t regret it.

Down and Out in Beverly Hills

Rich people live here, poor people clean their homes and wash their automobile collections.

Wealthy, Plastic Surgery, Extremely expensive shopping

Beverly Hills is easy to stereotype. My office was here, there are more moderately priced places, but I found the stereotypes held pretty well.

What's awesome

Gorgeous area, great people watching

What's not so awesome

a little too exclusive-feeling for me

Rollin' like a celebrity

I currently work in Beverly Hills, which is fun to be able to tell people, but honestly very stressful. This place is home to some of the angriest drivers in LA, and the sound of constant honking is pretty jarring. You should really know your way around this area (or stick to walking) if you want to keep your sanity.

Also it probably goes without saying that stuff here is not cheap. I bought the most expensive Snapple of my life in Beverly Hills. But, it’s a great place to walk around and window shop, especially on Rodeo Drive. And I’ve seen some very cool art shows in the grassy parks along Santa Monica Blvd.

Also, I hear the eating options are superb, but with my budget, I wouldn’t know.
