Cypress Hill, Brooklyn

Cypress Hill, Brooklyn

Cypress Hills is the northernmost part of East New York, located between the Cypress Hills Cemetery to the north and Atlantic Avenue to the south. Cypress Hills is by far quieter than its more bustling adjacent nabes, such as Bushwick. Architecturally, the neighborhood has a mix of row houses, housing projects, and mixed-use buildings.

I was really nervous when I was down here. The place is run down and dirty. It’s very industrial looking from the train stop with all sorts of graffiti. I realize that there are obviously more residential areas than the area right near the cemetery where i was, but if the upkeep there is any indication then Cypress Hills is a mess. Not really my cup of tea…Carrie C.
