Navy Hill, Brooklyn
Infomation
Navy Hill is a small, industrial-looking neighborhood right next to the Navy Yard in Brooklyn. The 3,000 people living in Navy Hill are mostly blue collar and fairly diverse. The residential parts of Navy Hill are low-rise apartment buildings similar to the more gritty areas of neighboring Vinegar Hill and DUMBO. With housing prices from mid-range to low-range, Navy Hill is a grittier enclave of neighboring Fort Greene andClinton Hill.

I work in the Navy Yard industrial park next to Navy Hill and since I live in Clinton Hill I usually hoof it or take the bus through there. It’s your average industrial-type area with nothing special to do or see, imo.Hil W.
I was tricked and swindled into a place in Navy Hill by a real estate agent who told me it was a “nice but gritty section of DUMBO” which I knew about as a gentrified sort of yuppie haven. I was all for DUMBO so I saw the place and moved in and found out that Navy Hill is NOT, I repeat NOT, part of DUMBO and is ten times as boring and twenty times as inconvenient. This place sucks and our building has a rat problem.Joey H.
