Privacy
NabeWise is a relocator, not a listings site. This page says what stays on your machine, what we publish as neighborhood data, and what the Chrome extension reads. Updated 5 September 2026.
On this website
Neighborhood pages are baked from public sources: Census ACS housing, police Part I reports, OpenStreetMap amenities, city 311 feeds, and public Reddit titles. Those datasets describe places, not you.
The sliders, city, saved list, and compare tray live in this browser under a local key. Clearing site data on nabewise.com clears them. We do not need those choices to render a neighborhood page.
311 cards drop street addresses before the snapshot is baked. Reddit cards use public post titles and link out with rel="nofollow". Neither feed is in the fit score.
Accounts
You can use the site without an account. If you sign in, we keep the email you typed so the session can come back. We do not sell that email, and we do not append it to a neighborhood score.
Browser extension 1.2
The extension ships the same official neighborhood list that the site uses. Matching happens on your machine. A city filter, if you set one, stays in chrome.storage.local. Get it from the Chrome Web Store or Microsoft Edge Add-ons.
On Zillow, StreetEasy, Apartments.com, HotPads, and Realtor.com the content script reads visible title and address text so it can name an official unit. That text is not sent to nabewise.com. Clicks open https://nabewise.com/{city}/{slug}.
The extension does not run on every site. It does not read your email, cookies from those listing sites, or payment forms.
What we do not collect
We do not buy marketing lists. We do not score a person. We do not store a listing address from the extension. We do not run an Airbnb partner pixel.
Third parties
Outbound links to Crunchbase, LinkedIn, Reddit, and city open-data portals follow those sites’ rules once you leave. Census, police, OSM, and 311 publishers already published the numbers we bake.
Ask us to change something
For a copy of what an account holds, or to delete it, write through NabeWise Media on LinkedIn. Browser storage you can clear yourself.
How the score is built lives on the method page. That is data about neighborhoods, not a privacy setting.
