Infomation
Nestled in the hills to the east of Lakewood and Forest Hills, Claremont is neither glitzy nor gritty. Small homes from the 1950’s comprise much of this neighborhood. It's also common to see unique paint jobs and bars on the windows of most Claremont homes. One thing's certain: the people here echo the general vibe of the nabe: quiet and unassuming.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator color=”mulled_wine”][vc_column_text]Claremont, Dallas Data : Neighborhoods & Travel – Score out of 100[/vc_column_text][vc_progress_bar values=”%5B%7B%22label%22%3A%22Parking%2088%22%2C%22value%22%3A%2288%22%7D%2C%7B%22label%22%3A%22Quiet%2088%22%2C%22value%22%3A%2288%22%7D%2C%7B%22label%22%3A%22Seniors%2075%22%2C%22value%22%3A%2275%22%7D%2C%7B%22label%22%3A%22Pet%20friendly%2063%22%2C%22value%22%3A%2263%22%7D%2C%7B%22label%22%3A%22Families%2058%22%2C%22value%22%3A%2258%22%7D%5D” bgcolor=”sky” options=”striped, animated” title=”TOP ATTRIBUTES”][vc_progress_bar values=”%5B%7B%22label%22%3A%22Nightlife%2050%22%2C%22value%22%3A%2250%22%7D%2C%7B%22label%22%3A%22Safety%2044%22%2C%22value%22%3A%2244%22%7D%2C%7B%22label%22%3A%22Public%20Transportation%2038%22%2C%22value%22%3A%2238%22%7D%2C%7B%22label%22%3A%22Shopping%2033%22%2C%22value%22%3A%2233%22%7D%2C%7B%22label%22%3A%22Singles%2017%22%2C%22value%22%3A%2217%22%7D%5D” bgcolor=”bar_turquoise” options=”striped, animated” title=”LOWEST ATTRIBUTES”][vc_separator color=”mulled_wine”][vc_column_text]Claremont, Dallas Reviews
Middle class lifestyle
Someone else already said it, but this nabe is kind of a hodgepodge! There are midcentury bungalows, not-so-nice apartments, and brand new developments all under a large middle-class umbrella. The population is diverse, and from what I’ve seen, everyone’s pretty down to earth and friendly. Claremont Village offers some local amenities (a market, dollar store, and Sonic) but a lot of people travel to nearbyLower Greenville or Casa Linda for their heavy duty shopping. That’s what’s great about Claremont – it’s got a pretty central location which makes it easy to get to the Lake or Downtown if you want a change of scenery (and not gonna lie – you probably will!).
Good location, nice folks
Not much to do here.

Hodgepodge of a Nabe
Drive 2 seconds one way and you then 2 seconds the other way and you’ll get a completely different vibe. It’s just a little bit of everything in here! Drive down Arturo Drive and you’ll see a bunch of overgrown trees and a few small homes plopped onto the big lots. And then if you stay a while at the tree-filled St. Francis park you’ll hear a strange flock of tropical parrots screech overhead. Closer South (towards Highland Rd) you’ll run into a bunch of average homes with weedy yards, odd paint jobs, and junk in the front yard. This part is made up of working class minorities (mostly african american) and the occasional elderly widow who has lived there his whole life.
The creek here is so pretty! And the tropical parrots that chose to nest here are a bird watchers dream!
blacks or hispanics are often strolling through the streets…not sure their purpose, but it doesn’t look good!

The fun of the lake without…
…the drag of White Rock snobbery.
Claremont is full of down-to-earth, every-day kind of folks. They share White Rock with their much wealthier neighbors but are a little bit more approachable. It’s not that other residents of the White Rock Lake area are rude- it’s just that Claremont people are a little bit more like the rest of us.
Claremont also features a few more families than other geographically comparable nabes – the average Lakewood resident is an empty nester more often that, whereas Claremont folks typically have at least one kid still in the roost.
Claremont is not lively in the slightest bit, but it is a pretty chill section of the White Rock area.
