The Vineyard boasts over 80 lodging options, a rather impressive number for a small island community. As you’re contemplating which of these Martha’s Vineyard hotels, motels, inns and resorts to choose for your vacation, consider these popular options.

Bed and Breakfasts

When you disembark from the Martha’s Vineyard ferry and take in the scenery for the first time, you’ll instantly notice a number of houses that could easily be turned into charming bed-and-breakfasts. Many of them have been, and staying in one is the ideal way to experience more of the hospitality and culture of the island. The “Martha’s Vineyard Gazette” has named the Thorncroft Inn the best B&B on the island, with Hob Knob as the runner up. Both have spa-like amenities in addition to the traditional benefits of a B&B.

Luxury Resorts

f your visit to Martha’s Vineyard is a true vacation, you may find that a luxury resort offers the best opportunities to truly relax. If traveling with kids in tow, consider the Winnetu Oceanside Resort, which “Parents” named the second-best family-friendly resort in the nation. A thriving children’s program keeps kids entertained while parents enjoy the gym and yoga classes at the Adventure and Wellness Center.

Affordable Hotels

A luxury resort or a charming B&B will not carry the lowest price tag. If you’re traveling on a budget, you can find a few affordable options for lodging on Martha’s Vineyard. Consider the MV Surfside Motel or the Dockside Inn, both in Oak Bluffs. Keep in mind that you probably won’t find hotels for under $100 a night on the island, particularly in peak season, so “affordable” has a different meaning on Martha’s Vineyard than on the mainland. If you really need to go cheap, choose one of the island’s hostels, but don’t expect much in the way of amenities.

With lodging options that run the gamut from hostels with bunk beds to luxury resorts, you’re sure to find something on Martha’s Vineyard to fit your tastes. Each lodging option has its own unique flair and amenities, so each time you visit the island you can have a different lodging experience.

The island of Martha's Vineyard is a fascinating place to visit. There are so many things to do and places to go that you could spend your entire vacation here without seeing all that the island has to offer!
My family and I have been going there for years, but we always find new activities every time we return. The first thing I recommend doing when visiting this beautiful location is taking a hike through one of the trails on the island. Not only will you get some exercise and fresh air, but it gives you a chance to take in the sights and sounds of nature around you. If hiking isn't really your style, then maybe try biking or kayaking instead! You can even rent out paddleboards if you want something more relaxing
