Parkside

by Nabewise

Infomation

Often considered part of the Sunset District, Parkside has re-emerged as a distinct nabe, becoming a highly sought after locale. With Ocean Beach, Sigmund Stern Grove, Pine Lake Park and Fleishhacker Zoo nearby, there is no shortage of recreation options for residents. The L-Taraval lumbers along Taraval Street, a main commercial corridor where ethnic food and old San Francisco restaurants appease hungry locals. Sunset Boulevard and 19th Avenue allow quick access for commuters leaving the city.

Parkside is the Sunset in my opinion, but this name has been embraced and it seems to have stuck. It’s pretty quiet out here and foggy too. There’s a police station, which should make you feel safe. Taraval Street has some good, low-key restaurants and plenty of grocery and corner stores.Gena
