Gerritsen Beach, Brooklyn

by Nabewise

Infomation

Gerritsen Beach is a remote, very residential neighborhood in the far southeast of Brooklyn on a peninsula right on Shell Bank Creek. With no train access and a large park next door, Gerritsen Beach is a pleasant little community reminiscent of Long Island. Homes vary in size and are primarily owner-occupied. What it lacks in subway stops, it makes up for in boat docks, as the nabe abuts right up to the channel.

I dock my boat at the docks in Gerritsen Beach. It’s a great place to dock because its safe, safe, safe. If you don’t own a car I wouldn’t even consider going around there for your boat, although, if you own a boat and don’t own a car your priorities might be a little out of whack.Harold F
