Infomation

Like most West Seattle nabes, Fauntleroy is hilly, woodsy, and most of all, stunning beyond words. New residents choose from hillside bungalows with incredible views of Puget Sound or craftsman homes tucked on quiet wooded lanes with large lawns. Fauntleroy feels more like a small seaside town than a nabe in a huge metropolis, and this is likely its greatest asset. Visitors and residents should take notice of Lincoln Park—a 135-acre wonderland filled with beaches, dense pine forests, tennis courts, ball fields, and a heated salt-water pool. Dining options are a bit limited, but that’s small potatoes when you live in such a peaceful and gorgeous nabe.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator color=”mulled_wine”][vc_column_text]Fauntleroy, Seattle Data : Neighborhoods & Travel – Score out of 100[/vc_column_text][vc_progress_bar values=”%5B%7B%22label%22%3A%22Clean%2090%22%2C%22value%22%3A%2290%22%7D%2C%7B%22label%22%3A%22Quiet%2088%22%2C%22value%22%3A%2288%22%7D%2C%7B%22label%22%3A%22Empty%20nesters%2086%22%2C%22value%22%3A%2286%22%7D%2C%7B%22label%22%3A%22Safety%2085%22%2C%22value%22%3A%2285%22%7D%2C%7B%22label%22%3A%22Pet%20friendly%2083%22%2C%22value%22%3A%2283%22%7D%5D” bgcolor=”sky” options=”striped, animated” title=”TOP ATTRIBUTES”][vc_progress_bar values=”%5B%7B%22label%22%3A%22Public%20Transportation%2050%22%2C%22value%22%3A%2250%22%7D%2C%7B%22label%22%3A%22Income%2045%22%2C%22value%22%3A%2245%22%7D%2C%7B%22label%22%3A%22Nightlife%2044%22%2C%22value%22%3A%2244%22%7D%2C%7B%22label%22%3A%22Singles%2031%22%2C%22value%22%3A%2231%22%7D%2C%7B%22label%22%3A%22Shopping%2031%22%2C%22value%22%3A%2231%22%7D%5D” bgcolor=”bar_turquoise” options=”striped, animated” title=”LOWEST ATTRIBUTES”][vc_separator color=”mulled_wine”][vc_column_text]Fauntleroy, Seattle Reviews

Quiet Neighborhood, Great Parks!

As a lifelong resident of this ‘nabe, the first things that come to mind when thinking of Fauntleroy, are the parks. This ‘nabe includes access to two very large wooded parks, great for whatever outdoor activity you might have planned from walking the dog, to a quick baseball game with some friends. The West Seattle Ferry Dock is located right in the middle of this ’nabe’s waterfront, which allows easy access for a fun island outing, or an alternative means to get downtown, but can cause traffic during weekday rush hour along major streets. While there isn’t a lot of business located in this area of Seattle, Endolyne Joe’s is a fun place to catch a bite to eat, with a menu that changes themes every quarter. Overall it’s a good neighborhood for families and those who prefer a quieter ’nabe, and a fun place to visit if you like parks! Neighbors tend to be friendly, and the local YMCA is great for exercising and getting kids involved in out of school activities.

Nice, Green, West Seattle

Fauntleroy is like any other West Seattle nabe but a little nicer. Its giant parks add to the already green decor of tree lined, bush crowded streets.

The neighborhood also serves as a hub for Ferries, making it convenient for fun day trips and commutes. The houses are all pretty nice and things cost accordingly but it’s a great nabe to grow a little older in, walking your golden retriever down to the Sound sporting a fleece. That’s the kinda vibe this nabe puts off.

Dream-like, where days past slow and perfect

Fauntleroy is like stepping into a dream in which you are wandering aimlessly through a small coastal village in northern California, or maybe in England if there were more trees. In this dream you are at peace with yourself, and the world around. Your worries and stress no longer exist, they blow away with the sea breeze. You feel as if were you to step out of the village, you would never see another soul, and limitless beauty would unfurl in front of you.

Unfortunately, were you to step out of the village, you would still be in Seattle, not facing endless expanses of beauty, but THAT is precisely why this nabe rules. While here, the world around you essentially goes on hiatus, but you can rejoin it any chance you wish, and experience the cosmopolitan side of life. Of course, you can return to your dream world whenever you please.
