Oakland Gardens, Queens

By Nabewise

Oakland Gardens, not to be confused with nearbyBayside as they do overlap a bit, boasts some of the best public schools in New York City. Founded during the 1800s as a railroad town, some families settled there and generations after stayed in this charmed community. As for transportation, today, Manhattan is only an hour away via train and bus.
